Norris Gallery presents the "transFORMATION" Winners!
The following recepients were awarded the "Award of Distinction" and cash prizes:
DAVID BOWER, "Yellow Corker" (16" x 13") Materials used: antique stationary (circa 1893), bird images from "Birds of America" (1940), driftwood from Olympic Peninsula (WA), antique dice, old bubblegum blowing straw, metal ring, 2 clay marbles, scrap from an old French dictionary, 2 wooden Monopoly pieces (covered with old stamps), an old stamp reproduction from album and wooden spindle.
JAMES G. JENKINS, "The Failure of the Material" (17.5" x 66" x 21") Materials used: Apple logo (base), letters from "Read Them Like a Book" sculpture (St. Charles Public Library), antique magic latern slide assembly (The Garden) 1880, glass tubing, shredded money, stainless steel scraps, cast iron scrap, owl talon, rare earth magnets (American Science & Surplus), extension spring, white cotton surgical suture, candle, 2mm glass spheres, recycled welding wire, recyled flat wire.
DOROTHY MCINTYRE, "Untitled" (8" x 40") Materials used: rusted bike chains, broken mirrors, wood, old earrings, ceramic made faces, black rope, numerous found objects.
