FermiLab’s Hidden Past, with Brian and Joyce Ostberg

December 3 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

| Free

ONLINE RESERVATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE LATER IN THE SUMMER.

Wednesdays @ One welcomes local historians, Brian and Joyce Ostberg, creators of the BeHistoric YouTube channel, for a fascinating presentation on the prehistory and history of the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory property in Batavia.  Join us at the Baker Community Center on December 3 for a deep dive into FermiLab’s ancient history and archaeology.

Constructed in the late 1960s on 10 square miles of farmland, the laboratory grounds have been explored by both amateur and professional archaeologists for decades, yielding invaluable insights into the people that once inhabited the DuPage and Fox River valleys for thousands of years.

Brian and Joyce Ostberg started their YouTube channel, BeHistoric, in the autumn of 2020, a channel devoted to regional history and prehistory. They have since published over 85 documentaries on regional topics related to history, archeology, and geology. Brian is a retired software engineering Director for AT&T Bell Labs, more recently Nokia, in Naperville. Joyce is a retired Molecular Biologist, having worked at Abbott Labs in North Chicago, before retiring to raise their family. Both she and Brian have an avid interest in history and prehistory and started their BeHistoric YouTube channel as a way of scratching that itch. They have lived in DuPage County since 1985, where they raised their family.

Wednesdays @ One events are presented free of charge, thanks to the generous support of Colonial Cafe.
