Watercolor 2026 – Call for Art
Artists are invited to submit up to 3 ORIGINAL watercolor artworks for Watercolor 2026 through Entrythingy.com by Friday, January 16, 2026. Artists must follow the requirements listed below and on the Norris website and Entrythingy.com to be included in the exhibit. Use of watercolor media is required – acrylics and mixed media are not accepted. Work previously shown in the gallery is not eligible and ALL work must be for sale. Artists will receive 70% of the sale price of their purchased work. Watercolor 2026 will be on display February 21 – April 12, 2026. Norris Gallery Hours: Thursday – Sunday, 11 am – 4 pm.
Exhibit Entry Information:
- A non-refundable entry fee of $35.00 is due through the submission service, com.
- Artists can enter up to 3 ORIGINAL pieces of artwork for consideration.
- Entrythingy submission deadline is: Friday, January 16, 2026.
- All work is for sale and artists are responsible for insuring their own work.
- Artwork must be original in concept, execution and subject matter – NO giclees or reproductions are allowed.
- Artists will be notified of the status of their entries and exhibit forms by January 31, 2026. Artists must complete all forms in advance and bring them with their artwork on drop off day.
- All accepted work must be dropped off at the Gallery on Monday, February 16 (2 – 4 pm).
- Work must be delivered in person by the artist or their approved representative.
- Watercolor 2026 exhibit dates are Saturday, February 21 – Sunday, April 12, 2026.
- Artist Reception is Sunday, March 15, 2026 (2 – 4 pm). Awards will be presented at 3 pm. Parking, admission to the Gallery and the reception are free to the public
- Work must be picked up at the end of the exhibit on Monday, April 13 (12 – 4 pm).
Artwork Preparation and Display Requirements:
- Artwork must have an artist’s I.D. label attached to the back of 2D work or bottom of 3D art that includes the artist’s name, title of the work, sale price and artist’s phone number. Artwork tags will be included in the paperwork artists receive for accepted work (see instructions in the paperwork.)
- The Norris Gallery uses the Walker hanging system for 2D work. Saw tooth hangers cannot be used with this system. 2D work must be framed with hangers attached to the back of the work and connected with flexible hanging wire. 2D work cannot exceed 3’ x 3’ or equivalent dimensions. 2D work cannot weigh more than 40 pounds including glass, plexiglass & frame.
- All work must fit through the Gallery doors and must be easily moved by Gallery volunteers.
- 3D watercolor work must fit in the locked glass display case, on a pedestal or be free-standing.
- If special display instructions are needed, such as for a diptych or triptych, artist must provide the instructions with the work. Volunteers will try to accommodate display requests.
- Information about the Watercolor 2026 judge Megan Ripke will be posted on the Norris website.
- Artists agree to allow NCAC to photograph and otherwise promote the artists and the exhibit in the Norris Gallery’s printed, online and social media formats.
