Call for Entries: Watercolor 2025

“Watercolor 2025” is the Norris Galleries’ annual juried spring exhibit. Artists are invited to submit up to three ORIGINAL watercolor works through Entrythingy.com by Friday, January 17, 2025. Artists must follow the requirements listed below to be included in the exhibit. Use of watercolor media is required – acrylics and mixed media are not accepted. Entries must be NEW to the gallery and must be for sale. Artists will receive 70% of the sale price of their purchased work. “Watercolor 2025” will be on display February 22 – April 13, 2025. “Watercolor 2025” Exhibit Requirements

  • A non-refundable entry fee of $35.00 is due through the submission service, com.
  • Artists can enter up to 3 ORIGINAL pieces of artwork. Entry deadline is Friday, January 17, 2025.
  • All work is for sale and artists are responsible for insuring their own work.
  • Artwork must be original in concept, execution and subject matter giclees or reproductions are not allowed.
  • Artists will be notified of the status of their entries by January 31 and will receive paperwork related
  • All accepted work must be dropped off at the gallery on Monday, February 17 between 2 – 4 pm.
  • All accepted work must meet preparation and display requirements to be exhibited in the Galleries.
  • “Watercolor 2025” exhibit dates are Saturday, February 22 – Sunday, April 13, 2025.
  • Work must be delivered in person by the artist or their approved representative.
  • Work must be picked up at the end of the exhibit on Monday, April 14 (12 – 4 pm).

Artwork Preparation and Display Requirements:

  • Artwork must have an artist’s I.D. label attached to the back of 2D work or bottom of 3D art that includes the artist’s name, title of the work, sale price and artist’s phone number.
  • The Norris Gallery uses the Walker hanging system for 2D work. Saw tooth hangers cannot be used with this system. 2D work must be framed with hangers attached to the back of the work and connected with flexible hanging wire. 2D work cannot exceed 3’ x 3’ or equivalent dimensions. 2D work cannot weigh more than 40 pounds including glass or plexiglass and frame.
  • 3D work that features watercolor media has two options for display:
  • Smaller 3D work must fit in the locked glass display case and cannot exceed 20” tall x 18” wide x 12” deep, and a maximum weight of 20 pounds.
  • Medium size 3D work can be displayed on pedestals provided by the artist or on one of the gallery pedestals (we have a limited number and size of pedestals – check with gallery in advance.) Work cannot exceed 30 pounds and must be easily carried by gallery volunteers.
  • For work requiring display devices, such as jewelry stands, these devices must be provided by the artist.
  • If special display requirements are needed, such as for a diptych or triptych, artist must provide the instructions with the work. Volunteers will try to accommodate display requests.
  • Information about the “Watercolor 2025” judge will be posted on the Norris website this fall.
  • Artists agree to allow NCAC to photograph and otherwise promote their work and the exhibit in the Norris Gallery’s printed, online and social media formats.
