We welcome back two Baker Center audience favorites – jazz pianist Jeremy Kahn and versatile vocalist Tatum Langley. Fronting a quartet of Chicago jazz All-Stars, Jeremy adds a combination of sophistication and wit to his unmatched jazz piano stylings. And you won’t find a more dynamic, engaging young singer than Tatum Langley, now a featured vocalist with the phenomenal Postmodern Jukebox. Together, Jeremy and Tatum create an unforgettable musical experience.
Born near Chicago, educated at Boston’s New England Conservatory, and a 12-year veteran of the New York jazz scene, Jeremy Kahn is back in Chicago where he is one of the area’s most in-demand jazz artists. Although he is mainly a jazz pianist, having played in jazz-type venues around the world, Jeremy also plays in pit orchestras for some of your favorite theatrical extravaganzas.
Jeremy has collaborated with Dizzy Gillespie, Max Roach, Joni Mitchell, Phil Woods, Teramasu Hino, Charlie Haden, Aretha Franklin, Barbara Cook, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and everyone in between.
Tatum Langley grew up in Elmhurst and is a musical theater graduate of Ball State University. She has taken the Chicago jazz and big band scene by storm, and is enjoying a prominent role in national and international tours with Postmodern Jukebox. Her “Mrs. Maisel-style” cover of Green Day’s hit, Basket Case, has accumulated nearly 2 million views in less than a year.
Your paid ticket for this concert includes coupons for three complimentary beverages (wine, beer, soft drinks).
